Having lived on the East Coast of Suffolk for 10 years I had plenty of opportunity to observe children at play on the beach and my paintings of them have become very popular.
Now we live on the edge of the New Forest surrounded by beautiful countryside and wildlife. Watch out for more woodland scenes which may well include some of the animals which roam free here,ponies. donkeys, deer and,occasionally my favourites, pigs .
The immediacy and softness of pastels appeals to me and I find them particularly suited to pet portraiture which makes up the biggest proportion of my commissions.
Occasionally a picture ‘pops’ into my head and I have to paint it before I can stop thinking about it , my seascapes and woodland scenes are usually the result. Though I have been known to paint a blue cow !
I have had so much joy from my painting that I like to encourage others. On this site you will see paintings by other members of my family who get as much pleasure from it as I do.

Charlotte is my granddaughter and a talented artist for her age (she is 13) Her pastels in particular, show a maturity beyond her years. Some of these were painted 4 years ago when Charlotte was only 9.
Bridget, my lovely daughter, has always excelled at whatever she sets her mind to. Now she has taken up watercolour painting and, from this sample, it would appear that this will be no exception.
